Summer is in full swing! What's a pregnant girl to do with her bump though?!
At risk of sounding like a complete lush, I have to share that most of my summertime activities prior to pregnancy would revolve around bar hopping along the boardwalk or sipping on a beer on a patio.
This summer I have taken to some new adventures that don't involve patio hopping on the boardwalk. Although, any friends that join sure can!
Check out these 5 options:
Stand-Up Paddle Boarding on Mission Bay:
A great workout and fun way to sun your bump. Don't forget your Beautycounter sunscreen!
Hiking Torrey Pines:
Bring your sweetheart or grab a few girlfriends for this beautiful hike that has trails overlooking the Pacific Ocean. The hike is a great way to get outdoors and get a good sweat on for you and your bump.
I love Torrey Pines hiking trails because you could go everyday and have a completely different experience.
San Diego brings you an opportunity to shop fresh & local by offering a farmer's market in various neighborhoods almost everyday of the week.
By far, my favorite is the grand Little Italy Farmer's Market. You can eat and shop your way through the afternoon as you go up and down several blocks of Little Italy.
PuttPutt at Belmont Park: Nothing is more nostalgic feeling than trying to get a golf ball through the hole of the moving windmill blades at a putt putt course! I recently re-lived childhood memories by playing a round of putt putt at Belmont Park.
Be prepared for some laughs as you try to hit the ball and your tummy (if you're showing) getting in the way! I didn't even try to bend over to pick the ball up out of each hole to avoid any grunting the occurs with the pregnancy bend, lol.
San Diego Fair: Food! Food! Food! Treat yourself for an indulgent afternoon with some guilty fair food pleasures.
Personally, I love pure sugar in the form of a giant cotton candy!
The 1980's movie, Blue Lagoon, has given me a calming feeling about the experience of being pregnant and delivering. Granted, this is a Hollywood depiction of a fictitious scenario. However, I feel it inadvertently gives a fantastic concept of how your body knows what it's supposed to do during these milestone stages of life. Like many women, I bring myself down a dark hole of all the possibilities of things that could go wrong in pregnancy & labor. What it really comes down to is that women have been getting pregnant and delivering without knowing anything about pregnancy/labor before the age of internet. Why can't I simply trust the process and my body to do what nature intends it to do?! 🤗🌊🌴🌺Ps. If you haven't seen this movie yet, add it to your watch list😍❤
