Mamas and Mamas-to-be all came together to connect and support one another in the name of health and wellness. Stacy McCarthy led Mamas on a meditation hike that was fueled by Beaming. Beautiful With Baby founder, Betsy Bennis, spoke to how Stacy and Beaming were integral parts of her pregnancy.
On our hike Stacy spoke of the Big 3: How you eat, how you move, and how you think. Dive deeper into these practices by registering for "A Day of Namaste" on Saturday, August 26th.
We sampled delicious Beaming Superfoods that were developed with Mama in mind. Knocked Up, Get Preggy, and their newest More Milk. Learn more about these smoothies here.
Betsy spoke of her pregnancy journey. Incorporating Beaming into her diet along with the positive mindset from Stacy led her to being 9 months pregnant and blogging through the platform Beautiful With Baby.
Beautiful With Baby is designed to make Mamas feel their most beautiful. BWB offers Mama apparel (MAMA BEAR JACKETS), Beauty insider info, and monthly Mama gatherings.
All Mamas got sent home with Beautiful With Baby Swag Bags that contained treats to pamper mom from Beautycounter and surprises from the amazing shapewear company, Belly Bandit .
The first several months of my pregnancy I was in denial about dressing my bump. I was hell bent on not buying any maternity clothes because of my perception of them being ugly or ill-fitting. As you've seen in my previous posts I have been proven wrong by a few fantastic maternity companies. However, those were for everyday wear such as dresses and denim. What about active wear?
My bump was accommodated by Lululemon's Align pants which felt good on the skin and didn't cut into my growing belly. They didn't provide the support for my tummy and would roll down during my workouts though. There was pilling too :(
Go figure I find the perfect pair of leggings 7 months in, lol!
I was already thinking about postpartum belts at this point and looking for maternity leggings was no longer on my radar as I thought the perfect pair didn't exist. I stumbled upon Belly Bandit's website and lord have mercy, I was in love.
I got the Bump Support Leggings (comes in crops too!)and have barely taken them off since their arrival.
The construction of the belly area made my bump feel so supported and the band didn't roll down!
My main intention was to wear the leggings during my workouts. You guys, the fabric for these leggings are so bomb that I wear them with heels and a nice top. I used to be such a hater and would NEVER wear leggings as pants. These made me change my outlook on that!! My only wish is that they came in more colors!
My advice for any mamas just starting their pregnancy journey: Get these leggings as early as possible and enjoy your pregnancy journey in comfort.
I am excited to try their belly wraps after my little fella arrives!
Today marks a milestone in my pregnancy being 30 weeks! Man, do I feel it too!😅 I spent Independence Day at a friend's place in Palm Springs and the heat definitely was something I had to be mindful of at this stage of pregnancy.☀️Hydration was top priority but it didn't mean I couldn't enjoy refreshing drinks with everyone! Try out these recipes for my favorite Pregnancy Mocktails that are hydrating, delicious, and healthy for you!❤️🍹Ps. The obvious hydration choice is water ;)

Nothing makes me more happy than gathering a bunch of ladies together with common interests. Over the weekend I had the opportunity to do so by hosting a Beauty Brunch with Lashes & Paws.
Our brunch was filled with so much beauty and good eats! Our guests had the opportunity for a killer deal of lash application from April, owner of Lashes & Paws, shop safe beauty products from Beautycounter, and enjoy mimosas with fun brunch bites.
For those of you who didn't have the opportunity to attend the Beauty Brunch, you can still take part of the special I have going on with Beautycounter! Any order you place through the Flamingle Social until July 3rd, 2017 will come with a surprise mini spa gift bag. Our guests at the Flamingle loved the No.3 Balancing Facial Mask paired with the Cleansing Balm. With it being summertime, the sunscreen was a big hit as well! To place an order click here and be sure to select the Flamingle social to receive your complimentary mini spa bag.
BEHOLD! I have found the essential dress you need for your wardrobe to get through your summertime pregnancy.
Pink Blush designed this perfect short-sleeve-fitted dress that can take you from the farmer's market to your bff's wedding.
The cut of the dress with side ruching allows for your belly to supported with comfort while also showing off your beautiful pregnancy curves. The fabric is lightweight and breathable so the summertime heat wont give you swoob (sweaty boobs) or swelly (sweaty belly).
I went bold and opted for the Hibiscus Dress to embrace summer. I recommend getting this dress in multiples, especially solid colors, because you can easily style and accessorize the dress to suit any occasion.
Below are just a few more of my favorite colors for summer. You can see how this dress can be worn so many different ways!
In a recent post I shared my experience about losing my job while pregnant.
To not feel alone in the matter I took to Google to find out if other women have experienced a situation like mine and didn't find much. This really made me feel isolated and wishing I had someone to talk to that could relate.
I'm 100% capable of working. I want to work. I enjoy working. In my eyes I would be considered an asset to a company as I am bringing another human in the world that needs financial support. This would mean to an employer that I would be working extra hard to provide for the little bub that was on the way.
Granted, I would need some brief time away to recover from labor and bond with the baby. However, if an employer took care of me during this short time away, you better believe that I would be busting my butt for them the minute I was back to the grind.
Of course this makes sense in my own little fantasy world.
Do employers see my point of view? Nope. Did my previous employer? Nope.
Interviewing at 7 months pregnant has turned into something laughable at this point. Silver Lining: I created this blog to help support women through their pregnancy!
While updating my Beautiful With Baby Facebook page last night I stumbled upon an article from Create & Cultivate that had me doing Oprah's, "mmmmhm", "tweet that," "that's an a-ha moment!"
The article's author, Jane Halpern, dove into what I have been experiencing trying to make a go of it in the workforce while pregnant.
Pregnant or not, her article is one in which I wish was read by business owners and hiring execs to offer perspective on this matter instead of outdated discriminatory practices.
You can read Jane's article by clicking here.
Today is International Yoga Day! A much needed reminder to take a moment and sit in silence to embrace the softer side of yoga. Believe me, this moody pregnant girl NEEDED some some of this today ;D
Throughout my pregnancy I have been going non-stop and barely taking a moment to breathe. I wasn't certain how to process my rollercoaster of emotions today and meditation was there for me.
Were the feelings warranted and derived from me loosing my job and fear of not being able to pay the bills? Or were they simply my hormones raging?
My daily yoga practice is yoga sculpt or from time-to-time I'll take my friend Katrina's pre-natal class. Meditation has never been a part of my routine. Man oh man, did I need it today.
They say that those who cannot meditate are the ones who need it the most. Touche.
I took 30 minutes out of my day to create a "zen" space in my apartment and sit in meditation. Belly hanging out and all! Everything that is not supposed to happen during meditation bubbled up for me.
I recently lost my job from a company that I gave my life & soul to. The company has been working through bankruptcy yet I still found myself playing victim and harboring feelings of anger and resentment towards them.
To be let go as a loyal employee at this stage of pregnancy is one of the more stressful circumstances I have had to face in life.
As I sat in stillness, I was enraged that I was put in a situation were I have to worry if I can pay my portion of rent, my car payment, and just general living expenses. What about my health insurance?!!
I continued to egg myself on with the notion that the only thing I should have to be worrying about right now in my life is picking out a good color for the walls in the baby's nursery. But Noooooo, I can't even afford to have nursery because I was let go from a company that I gave my all to.
Okay, okay, okay. First world problems, I know.
My rollercoaster took a turn and I went on the "who do you think you are?" journey.
Why do I deserve to have a nice nursery or good healthcare when there are families who can barely afford to put food on the table. Heck, who am I to complain about these issues when some women can't get pregnant at all?! I should be grateful that I have a healthy baby growing and not concerned about having a nursery. Guilt and shame set in.
After that came nothing but blankness and coincidentally the timer I set for 30 min went off nearing the end of my emotional ride.
I took today's practice as a lesson that I need to process my feelings more and take time for myself. Especially during this special period of my life.
I will be back on my cushion tomorrow! Hopefully with a clear head and heart after working through the stuff that has been lingering in my head the past few weeks!
During my first trimester I was dreading the day when the hair tie around my button fly would no longer work to hold my pants closed.
Buying maternity denim priced at $170 + was not in my budget and the practical side of me didn't want to invest that much either.
I was finding my only options at a reasonable price point were not fashionable or remotely cute. For any fans of 'The Office' out there, I felt like I would be looking like Pam Beasley until my due date. Woof.
Little did I know that PinkBlush was just sitting on the interwebs waiting for me with options that would make me feel a million times more glamorous than Pam ;)
Maternity denim has turned out to be one of the more comfortable things to wear during my pregnancy.
I now wish that I would've started wearing them the day day my bump popped instead of dealing with the hair-tie button fly trick.
The soft band on the denim from PinkBlush offers support and ease of movement. You don't have to do the jean wiggle dance sliding them on either!
I should mention that this wrap is also from PinkBlush! It's so versatile that I chose to wear it backwards. When worn to the front, I can see how I will love wearing while nursing as well.
One of the biggest questions I had with maternity denim was sizing. With new curves and a growing bump how the heck was I supposed to know what size to get.
You still wear the same size as normal. Prior to pregnancy I was wearing 24/25 or XS. In all maternity denim I am still wearing the same size depending on the brand. For PinkBlush I ended up going with a 25 and found it still gave me a little extra wiggle room in the thighs in the chance mah booty and thighs decided to plump up with my tummy.
Check out a few of my other faves from their collection below:
Summertime is here and that means tons of fun in the sun! Ummmmm, wait. Before there is sun time I need to: go to the dry cleaner, pick up groceries, run to Michael's for a kid's craft project, get in a workout, get little Timmy a new pair of sneakers, wash the car....
You get the drift.
What if you don't have time to soak up some Vitamin D?!
I don't have kids yet but still find myself missing that sun kissed look with sexy beach waves in my hair.
On days when I want to have that beach babe look I break out these essentials:
Skin: Beautycounter Sugar Body Scrub & Glow Shimmer Oil:
First things first, you gotta get a good clean base for your skin to glow. Hop in the shower and scrub down with Beautycounter Sugar Body Scrub. Moisturize as normal.
Then comes the glow: Shake the Glow Shimmer Oil well and dispense a generous amount into hands. Massage onto legs, décolletage, shoulders, arms, face, or hair. Face: Shake well and massage a small amount onto your cheekbones, nose, and forehead to highlight. Glow Baby. Glow!
**Bonus point: Beautycounter products are non-toxic and safe for your skin!
Make-up: Becca x Chrissy Teigen Glow Palette:
As if Chrissy Teigen's cookbook wasn't enough for me to fall in love with her, the face palette she created with Becca Cosmetics put my girl crush level through the roof.
With a few swipes on the face of her beautifully curated colors you'll look as though you spent the weekend sitting on a rooftop patio.
Sunlit bronzer under my cheekbone
Sweep of the rose gold along the cheekbone
The highlighter glazed just above the cheekbone, down the middle of the nose, and just above the bow of the lip
Sea Salt Spray: Guess what? You don't have to spend a fortune on beach wave spray! You can easily make it at home yourself.
Follow these easy steps:
8-ounce spray bottle
1 cup hot water
2 tablespoons Epsom salt
1/2 teaspoon sea salt
1/2 teaspoon doTERRA fractioned coconut oil
5 drops Rosemary Essentail Oil (doTERRA)
5 drops Lemon Essentail Oil (doTERRA)
Oh my aching cankles!!! One of the joys of pregnancy can cause swelling in your ankles and feet. There are days that I feel like I'm lugging two tree trunks below me. The bloat is real.
One of my favorite ways to de-puff and relax in general is soaking in a warm bath at the end of a long day. The cherry on top is popping in a bath bomb but they can get pricey!
I took it upon myself to learn how to make bath bombs myself and experimented with several different recipes. The one I have provided for you is elements that I feel created the most fabulous bath bombs!
For my bath bombs, I recommend using safe ingredients for your skin. This is why I choose doTERRA essential oils, organic colored powder, and body safe glitter. There are so many brands on the market for these types of items and many of them are not FDA cleared to be put on your skin for long periods of time. Food coloring is a perfect example! What you put on your skin will absorb in your body. Play it safe by choosing these brands. :)
